Happy Betwixtmas to you lovelies!

Ready for a Lifestyle Review? I adore these in-between days. I usually spend this time between Christmas and New Year’s Day walking off home-made mince pies, catching up friends in the local by the open fire, or lazing in my PJs crying to ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ for the hundredth time.

It’s also the perfect time for a Lifestyle Review – this is when you take time to reflect on the past 12 months, and decide what you want your 2020 to look and feel like.

What would you like from 2020?

To boost your confidence?
Make more time for yourself?
Shake things up in your career or personal life?
Perhaps you’ve got something specific in mind, or maybe you want to change something but you don’t quite know what. Well, you’ve come to the right place.

Letting go of negative energy

Whatever it is you desire, you are much more likely to achieve your goals if you can let go of the negative energy in your life – this ‘negative energy’ is the stuff that’s holding you back. It might be a person or a relationship. It might be a belief you hold about yourself that prevents you from being who you truly want to be. It might be something that feels unavoidable or immovable. Actually, whatever form this ‘negative energy’ takes, you can decide how you react to it.

The importance of doing nothing

It’s crucial that you make time to do nothing. But let me be totally honest, I’m not the kind of person who can happily sit around doing nothing. Even the idea of doing nothing freaks me out. Suddenly all the things that I could be doing fill my head and my body experiences a sensation closely matching having had three too many Americanos. So when I say “take time to do nothing” I don’t say it lightly. I say it because, if you’re like me, it’s actually not an option  – it’s essential.

A time for reflection

This time of year  – Betwixtmas – is almost a god-given period of rest. We should retreat, stay home, snuggle up, unwind. (In fact, we should do this fairly frequently, and not wait for the public holidays or the shops to close).

Doing nothing allows for creative energy flow, ideas, and reflection. Doing very little gives your brain the opportunity to process all the ‘stuff’ that has been on your mind for so long. Then it will be easier for you to begin to ponder on what you would like to be, do, have and, or, create in 2020.
