Announcement: “The Super-Helper Syndrome”

I’m delighted to share that our #bookbaby is official!

The full title is: The Super-Helper Syndrome: A Survival Guide for Compassionate People. I wrote it with fellow psychologist, and my partner, Rod Vincent. The book will be published by Flint Books on 29th September, 2022.

Have you ever come across someone who helps other people to the detriment of their own wellbeing? Maybe they are in a paid helping role, maybe they volunteer, maybe both! Perhaps they are the fixer in the family – the person everyone else goes to to solve problems. It’s likely that they put other people’s needs first, and never get around to having their own needs met.

I’ve unearthed the reasons for this and put together a survival guide – based on insights and tools I’ve developed over the years. I’m now excited to offer these solutions to a wider audience. It’s only by supporting their own mental and physical health that helpers can have the strength to care for others in the way they long to.
